Hello!
I now got my first standar Labradoodle,a funny little girl from Kennel little Rascals in England.Since I don`t have any experince with this breed,it will be both fun and interesting to get to know this type of dog!I have fallen in love with my `little` Sandy!A lot of people have asked me why I didn`t buy a Labradoodle from Norway! To be honest in my answer,I couldn`t find one serious breeder! They had no clue what they were doing, and just wanted to make money.Therfor I bought my little Sandy from abroad!!!
I wish to thank Kathy, the president of Australian Labradoodle Assossiation inc (ALA) and the owner of Kennel Cloudcatcher, for all the help and guidance before I bought my Sandy!I send my appticiation and thanks to the president of Australian Labradoodle Assossiation Europe (ALAEU) Kimberly Karlshoej! She breed Australian Labradoodle (Kennel Scandinavia Labradoodle),and she has now offered to help and guide me in my beginning of Labradoodle,so
THANK YOU SO MUCH,KIMBERLY,for doing this for me!I really appriciate your help!!!
Why this breed?
I wanted a bigger breed to work with, than my Miniatureschnauzers. The problem is: My son is allergic to dogs, among other things. He also has asthma. After reading a lot about the breed, which for now ain`t approved by FCI,and mailing questions to ALA and other breeders,my choise came down to the Labradoodle. What I think is very interesting about this breed,is all the things they can be used for and the strict and serious breedingprogram! In a while I will apply at least ALAEU to become an accredited breeder of Australian Labradoodle in Norway (For now, breeders on just Labradoodle can`t get approved, only if you breed Australian Labradoodle!).Still I will do my est to follow ALA`s code of ethics as good as I can!!!The breedprogram is very strict and difficult, and you have to know a lot about sickness,genetics...I think this is very interesting!I gonna have to do a lot of reading,research,gen-calculations...for this breed for a long time ahead!
My plans with the Labradoodle:
Since I have to learn more about this breed and type of dog,my plans ain`t 100% set.For now I hope to conquer obidience and use the dog as some kind of therapy-/service dog in my future work. That means my new little LD-girl will go trough different courses and a lot of training the next 3 years!
When my female has grown up,she will have puppies,-at least if she is healthy and well in both physical and mental meaning. The parents of my litters, will be strong, healthy, tested without any marks and they have to pass an authorized mental-test.The puppies I sell in the future of this breed, will be tested free of eyedeasises BEFORE they leave for their new homes. The puppies will be sold with 2 years warranty that it won`t have PRA.In the contract I will set a demand that I own the breedingrights for the dog. This is to set a limit for wrong and destroyable breeding of the Labradoodles from my kennel, only because some people want to earn some money. In Norway it is illegal to desex the puppies. If this changes some time,I will desex puppies from my breed! On the other hand,if you do want a breeding dog from me,let me know as early as possible, and we may find a deal!!!
My meaning with LD:
I want to learn more about this interesting and fascinating breed, learn all about the sickness` and learn as much as I can about the genetics.Behind this breed is sooo much time, effort, money and planning, it can do knockout to a lot of us!Still, I want to be a part of all this, make an effort to develop the Labradoodle as a breed, and participate the celebration in 2015.Then the breed Australian Labradoodle will be approved by FCI and Australian Kennel Club.As well as I know, this is a breed that suits most of the people, can be used to most of sports and they may be very allergy-friendly!At least from 3.generation F2-cross),the Labradoodle will be allergy-friendly!This is a breed that deserve a spot among many of the other popular and known breeds!!!I really look foreward to start up the work and learning with the Labradoodle!!!I plan my first litter of Labradoodle first half of the year 2011,and the litter will be a F2-litter! |
