I imported my first Labradoodle, a funny little girl, from Kennel Little Rascals in England.Since I don`t have any experience with this breed, it will be very nice and interesting to get to know this type of dog.I am totally in love with my Sandy!A lot of you have asked me why I imported my Labradoodle. My answer, to be honest, is that I couldn`t find one breeder of Labradoodle who knew what they were doing and just wanted the `easy` money!Therefor I hope all upcomming Labradoodle-buyiers are very critical to breeders of this type of dogs,-both in Norway and North!
Why this breed?
For a long time I`ve wanted a larger breed to work with. The problem is that my son is quite allergic to dogs and other things, and he`s asthmatic. After a lot of reading about the breed LD,who`s not approved by FCI, I decided to buy one.The breedeingprogram is very interesting for this breed! In a while,I will ask to become an approved breeder of LD in Norway, at lest through Australian Labradoodle Assossiation Europe ( for now it is only breeders of Multi-Gen and Australian LD who is approved!), but I will anyway do my best to follow their strict breedingprogram. This breedingprogram strict and complicated, and you need to know a lot about genes and calculation.I think this is very interesting,so I read and study all I can,haha...I will develop myself in a positiv matter, and I look foreward to do this!
My ideas and intentions with the LD:
My plans are not set yet, because I need some time to get to know my LD.My Sandy is now 1,5 years of age, and she shows a great interest for nosejobs, speed, excitement and she seeks a lot of contact with strangers. For now I am thinking of doing some obidience, tracking, tricks and agility with Sandy! My plans for Sandy`s cildren, is more in the service / therapy end of this breed.Time will show if this is the right thing to do!
I also want to learn as much as possible about this breed, know more about the deseaces and to get as good as I can calculating genes. There`s sooo much time, effort, experinces, money and planning to purebreed the LD!I want to participate in the LD`s development in a positive matter, and be a part of the celebration when the Australian Labradoodle is approved by FCI and Australian Kennel Club in 2015!As far as I know, Labradoodle suits most of us, can work with most of the tasks they need to learn/do and they are allergyfriendly! But be aware of that early generations of LD may not be allergyfriendly!!!If you want to be 100% sure that your dog doesn`t lose the coat, I recommend that you buy a Multi-Gen or an Australian Labradoodle.A LD is more allergyfriendly as longer out in the lines you come, and it depends on the parents combination. If you`re unsure about this, please contact someone who can tell you about this! This is a breed who deserve a spot among the other more familiar breeds!I look foreward to do my work with this lovely breed!
When Sandy is about 2 years of age, I plan to mate her with an Australian LD. This combination will make quite allergyfriendly LDs!The dogs I use in my breeding program, will both be fysically and mentally healthy, tested UnAffected for eyedeseases and HD and they will be mentaltested! The puppies I sell will be tested for eyedeseases BEFORE they leave for their new homes, and will have warranty of 2 years that they won`t have the eyedesease PRA.In my contract I will have an extra input that I will have the breeding rights for the dog. This is to prevent wrong breeding of the dogs from my kennel! In Norway it is elegal to nuture the puppies, but when this is clear, I will nuture puppies from my breed! If you do want a LD to breed with from my litters, please let me know, and we may come to an agreement!
I wish to send my grattitude to...
